Corrections Policy

Reporting an Error
Accuracy matters to BriefBerlin. To report a possible error, email info@briefberlin.de with:
- the article title or URL;
- the passage or claim you believe is incorrect;
- an explanation of the issue; and
- supporting evidence or sources, when available.
Review
A human editor reviews each correction request against the source material and any additional reliable evidence. BriefBerlin may contact the reader for clarification. A request does not automatically result in a change; the editor determines whether the published article is inaccurate, misleading, or materially incomplete.
How Corrections Appear
When a substantive error is confirmed, BriefBerlin updates the article and adds a visible correction note near the beginning of the article. The note identifies the correction date and explains what changed. The article’s machine-readable modification date is updated while its original publication date is preserved.
Minor spelling, punctuation, formatting, or grammar changes that do not alter meaning may be corrected without a formal note.
When an article cannot be corrected adequately, BriefBerlin may add an editor’s note, withdraw the article, or remove it where legal, safety, or serious accuracy concerns require that action.
Transparency
Correction notes remain attached to the article. We do not silently change a substantive factual claim after publication.
